Australian foodies are scrambling to find a new restaurant review site after the “abrupt closure” of a popular website.

Zomato is currently only available in the United Arab Emirates and home base India, after launching in New Delhi in 2008.

The company flagged its departure in 2020, announcing that it was going to withdraw from the Australian market after struggling through the pandemic. “We have decided to shut our local operations in these markets. While we are grateful for all the love we have garnered from our users, restaurant community, and all other partners,” a Zomato spokesperson said in 2020.
