The EF3 tornado killed three people in the Indian Lake area. As residents pick up the pieces, authorities are now warning of looters.
LOGAN COUNTY, Ohio — Cleanup continues in the hard hit area ofHundreds of volunteers have come to Indian Lake to help clear out the debris.
“It's devastating but we are resilient and people are just pushing through,” said Washington Township Police Chief Michael Thompson.“Different villages and cities just started sending people, the BSSA sent a ton of deputies from all over. I remember being on Orchard Island, taking command of that two hours I feel like after the incident and I turn around and there are 250 firefighters and police officers from all over Ohio and Indiana that are there to help,” Thompson explained.
"I'm very clear - we will find you if you are going to come take advantage of our residents. We will go to the ends of the earth to make sure you are held accountable," Thompson said. Which is just one of the reasons why you will see police officers, deputies and troopers from every end of the state keeping a watchful eye as residents clean up the pieces.
“Just know, there are multiple agencies up here and if we have to arrest people, we will," Thompson said.
