In a video tweet, the ambassador showed Von der Leyen eating the traditional Filipino chocolate snack.The EC president was in the Philippines from July 31 to Aug. 1 for a series of meeting upon the invitation of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.The EU ambassador had been sampling Filipino snacks for his #MeriendaNiLuc series of tweets. Among the snacks he had tasted were pichi-pichi, Choco Mallows, and minasa.

“This Filipino gem is more than a sweet treat; it's a nostalgic delight that brings people together,” he said about Choc Nut in his post. He also shared photos of the EC president with the EU delegation in the Philippines, as well as a photo of the famed Choc Nut. While in the Philippines, Von der Leyen met with Marcos to discuss EU’s Global Gateway and the negotiations for the country’s status as a preferred trade partner of the regional bloc.
