Leading No campaigner in the Voice to Parliament Referendum Warren Mundine has argued Welcome to Country is becoming a divisive and trivialised tradition on Sunday night's The Jury program.

“I don’t think it’s about divisive, I think it’s about inclusion. I am concerned about trivialising it, it not being respected, delivered in an appropriate way," Mr Moran said. "When you’ve got some international events like Rotary International where a couple thousand people come, they just love that type of stuff. Sometimes you sit there and you get people who rave on and on and on," Mr Mundine said."It’s originally about bringing people together, it’s about having this conversation and everything. And what’s happening is its being trivialised its being worn down and this is causing the division. We should be getting back to what it really is.
"The first section, the traditional owners have been there, they welcomed you, let’s get on with the conference and start talking about the business of the day. But when you got every person doing the same thing over and over and over, then people start to get turned off by it all and that’s where I’m concerned about that trivialisation of it."
"‘Always was always will be’ was just a slogan to really represent what we are and who we are. Certainly acknowledging at the time in the '70s there was no Racial Discrimination Acts then to protect one’s rights.
