It’s okay for Umno reps not to submit asset declarations to Speaker, says Perak MB

IPOH: It is alright for Umno assemblymen not to submit their asset declarations to the Perak state assembly Speaker, says Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

The Perak Mentri Besar said it was fine as long as they still made the asset declaration to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission .“But if Umno does not want to respect the institution, who am I to make them?

“They have been the government for 60 years yet they don't have respect for the Speaker,” he said this after attending a “Jasamu Dikenang” programme here on Monday . Perak Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad was reported to have said that Umno assemblymen will not submit their asset declarations to the state Speaker Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham and were prepared to face any action.“I’m still preparing mine. The state executive council members are also updating theirs,” he said.
