Residents near the airport's flight path feel there has been a 'marked change' with flights recently.
For those in the south of Greater Manchester, from Altrincham, Wythenshawe, to Stockport, the sight and sound of planes landing at the airport is part of daily life. From the huge Fly Emirates long haul planes to the tiny in comparison short-haul planes we've all become plane spotters when near the airport.
They said: "Anyone else notice that maybe a month or two ago the airplanes became louder and fly a lot lower? I am under a flight path, but there seems to have been a marked change. "Today when I was at the park people stopped and looked when one was so low you could read the logo. What’s going on? Am I just going crazy and somehow didn’t notice for years before?"
One offered the solution that 'you could be getting taller', but there is an actual explanation as to why this may seem to be the case. The airport said there is 'nothing untoward' that has 'deviated away from normal operations' that may be causing people to notice this, but this doesn't mean nothing has changed, so no one is 'going crazy'.
