Coronation Street' s Jennie McAlpine has admitted 'you never know what's going to happen to your character' after it was revealed that Sean Wilson has left his role as Martin Platt due to 'personal reasons'. The Fiz Dobbs actress, 40, appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday to discuss the last 23 years in Weatherfield as well as her latest love triangle storyline with Tyrone Dobbs and Alina Pop .
' It was announced earlier this year that Sean was heading back to Weatherfield as Martin as part of Gail Platt's final scenes of the ITV soap after Helen Worth revealed was quitting the iconic role after 50 years. However, it was announced over the weekend that Sean stepped down from his Corrie comeback 'due to personal reasons' and that Martin will no longer be part of Gail's departure as originally planned.
