ITV called to axe Who Wants to Be A Millionaire?'s Jeremy Clarkson after Meghan column
ITV has been urged to fire Jeremy Clarkson following a recent column about Meghan Markle, in which he shared his "hatred" for the Duchess of Sussex.
The column sparked outrage online with public figures including Alesha Dixon and Jeremy's own daughter, body positivity campaigner Emily Clarkson, condemning him. The MP for Ochil & South Perthshire posted his letter to the Chief Executive of ITV Carolyn McCall on Twitter. In it, he highlights how Jeremy likened Meghan and Nicola Sturgeon to Rose West in the column, asking how "comparing the democratically elected leader of Scotland or the only person of colour in the Royal Family to a renowned serial killer [helps the channel's] stated purposes of championing better mental health and embracing diversity".
A statement on The Sun’s website said: “In light of Jeremy Clarkson’s tweet he has asked us to take last week’s column down.”
