The popular ITV detective drama made its return to screens with the first episode of the 23rd series, but it wasn't all good news for fans of the long-running show
The beloved detective series resumed with the second episode of its 23rd season, which had been postponed due to Euro 2024. Viewers were delighted to see DCI John Barnaby, played by Neil Dudgeon, and his sidekick DS Jamie Winter, portrayed by Nick Hendrix, delve into the puzzling case of a former police officer's death within the confines of Challis Court, a private estate for retired cops.
Another fan humorously suggested: "I get the feeling a lot of time has passed since the last #MidsomerMurders. 5-10 years, in fact. Everyone looks much older including Betty!", reports the Express. Another joined in, criticising: "Terrible acting. Terrible casting. Terrible script. Just terrible. #MidsomerMurders," while a further comment read: "It's always the most famous actor on #MidsomerMurders that did it! Fail-safe conclusion every time."
