Jack Grealish ended a frustrating season with Manchester City by failing to convince Gareth Southgate he should be in England's Euro 2024 squad.
But he has knuckled down over the summer to return to Manchester City with a point to prove, and he must use that hurt as motivation to win his place back under Pep Guardiola.
It's fair for Grealish to be disappointed at how his 2023/24 season went. Plenty has been said over what went wrong, and his overall impact at City has been questioned as a result. That £100m price tag that followed him for the first year of his Blues career, shaken off by winning the treble, is suddenly back and weighing more heavily than ever.

"The competition everywhere is competitive. Jack will be using the fact that he's here now," Lescott added. "The manager can see what Jack is producing. He's aware of what Doku can produce but while Jack is producing right now, I'm sure he'll be ahead of him in his thoughts. You have to use that to your advantage.
