Luke Greenfield was branded as 'the perfect guy' by one of his 28 victims
A smooth-talking Yorkshire man who chatted up and dated a series of young women after impressing them with his cheery banter secretly filmed himself having sex with them.
Richard Butters, prosecuting, revealed that Greenfield encountered most of the women via social media or through his employment at a tyre centre. He kept in touch with them and engaged in consensual sexual activities, typically at his flat, but occasionally at his workplace. Following the initial complaint, further incidents came to light as the investigation "snowballed". After his arrest on September 1 last year, Greenfield's mobile phone and other possessions were confiscated, leading to the discovery of 34 videos on the device.
Having spent 10 months in custody on remand, Greenfield found the prison experience sobering. Mr Godfrey added: "Equally sobering is the faces of the women he has affected so poorly. It was humiliating for him but that's not a snip of the worry, toil and turmoil that he has caused a large group of people. It's not just the victims but their families as well - and it's an ongoing legacy.
"He had the good sense not to put anyone through the ordeal of a trial," Mr Godfrey remarked. "He is young enough to right some of the wrongs of the recent past. This behaviour will not be repeated." "Actually, none of these videos appear to have been disseminated and the police are in a position to ensure that they won't be after today, so that's at least some small comfort. You have deeply upset and affected young women, who, some of them, at the moment, can't see much of a bright future for themselves. There's no suggestion that you distributed these images or any evidence that you cropped them or edited them.
