Jackson Wolf throws third quality start in 11 trips to the mound since Padres reacquired him from Pirates
Jackson Wolf did not make the cut for Tuesday’s spot-start. But he didn’t hurt himself at all on Sunday. The 25-year-old left-hander struck out five over six shutout innings, leading Triple-A El Paso to a 7-0 win at Round Rock. Wolf scattered four hits without walking a batter in turning in just his third quality start in 11 starts since the Padres reacquired him from the Pirates.
Frisco 5, Missions 2: RHP Ryan Bergert allowed two runs in 5⅔ innings. He struck out two and allowed six hits and three walks. LHP Jayvien Sandridge struck out two over a scoreless inning. DH Robbie Tenerowicz went 2-for-4 with his fourth homer. TinCaps 5, Wisconsin 4: 1B Griffin Doersching went 4-for-4 with his sixth and seventh homers of the season and three RBIs. LF Tyler Robertson went 2-for-3 with his fifth homer. SS Jay Beshears went 2-for-4. RHP Braden Nett allowed a run on a homer in the first inning in his return from the injured list. RHP Tyler Morgan struck out three over three perfect innings for the win. RHP Bradgley Rodriguez struck out two over two scoreless innings.
