A senior official with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is visiting Jacksonville on Wednesday to join Mayor Donna Deegan and the Jacksonville Housing Authority for a funding announcement.
– Representatives with the Department of Housing and Urban Development presented the Jacksonville Housing Authority with a check Wednesday for $2.3 million.
For example, the program helps families with other expenses and needs so they can focus on workforce training and education. A young woman who participated in the Jobs Plus program shared her story on Wednesday, saying that through its support, she is now a certified nursing assistant and is working toward transitioning out of public housing.
