The late reality star - who died in 2009 of cervical cancer - found fame on Big Brother and in tonight's Channel 4 documentary, Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain, her early years of fame were shown.Beginning with how unpopular she was in the early weeks of Big Brother back in 2002, it was shown how Jade's vulnerability saw her become a fan favourite.
From when she was widely hated by the public for being a "chav", Jade's emotional honesty in the house with her feelings towards her fellow housemates and her struggles with her drug addict parents saw the nation fall in love with her. "I felt such enormous joy at Jade's great popularity that night," former Big Brother host Davina McCall recalled in the show.Jade shot to fame on Big Brother in 2002"I remember Jade saying how she had always looked after her mum, all her life, and you've gone into this and escaped this past life of addiction and then turning it around.The emotional scenes were too much for fans who broke down in tears while remembering Jade.
