James Corden was reportedly so set on leaving The Late Late Show that he turned down a £40 million offer.
The 43-year-old star – who first started hosting the US chat show in 2015 – announced last week he will step down in 2023 as he looks to spend more time with his family, and it’s said he snubbed a huge multi-year deal to stay at the helm., it seems James couldn’t be swayed by money as he chose to move on.
‘He could have gone down the cash route with Gavin and Stacey, taken the cheque and written it forever, but he chose not to. This is the same,’ said one insider. The report comes after James vowed to ‘go out with a bang’ over the next year, as he got emotional and opened up about the news during Thursday’s episode of his show.
