James Gunn Addresses Latest Batman Casting Rumors For The DC Universe
New casting rumors for Batman in The Brave and The Bold and the larger DC Universe get addressed by James Gunn. One of the many projects that was revealed for the DC Universe's Chapter 1:"Gods and Monsters" was the new Batman reboot, which will reimagine the Caped Crusader in the upcoming shared franchise. While The Brave and The Bold remains one of the most anticipated films in the state, there have been little to no updates on what is going on with Batman's DC Universe movie.
Gunn also clarified in a follow-up response that "the story is not true" when a fan asked, "Why not have a younger actor the same age as Superman because in comics, both of them fall in the similar age group." This is one of many times that Gunn has had to come out to debunk rumors about where they are going with Batman in the DC Universe, including multiple Hollywood names that have"emerged" as top candidates for the role.
Until the script for The Brave and The Bold is finalized, the casting process for the DC Universe's Batman is not set to go forward. Gunn has mentioned multiple times that the creative vision for said DC Studios project needs to be formally settled before they begin their search for an actor, including the DC Universe's Batman casting.
