James May, star of Top Gear and The Grand Tour, has defended 'dull' pasttimes typically associated with middle-aged men.
James May comes up with crafty solutions in his new Discovery Plus show James May has said that people ‘mistakeningly believe’ that some ‘basic manly quallities’ are ‘dull.’ The former Top Gear presenter, 61, comes up with crafty solutions to everyday problems in new Discovery Plus show James May & The Dull Men’s Club. The show follows James finding the ‘extraordinary in the ordinary’ by constucting DIY gadgets in the programme insiped by Dull Men’s Club Facebook groups.
But that does take you away from home for a long time, which I wasn’t so keen on these days anyway,’ he said. ‘I think the thing that appeals to me in these sort of more mature years of my life is arts and craft really, I want to make things, play musical instruments, and look at paintings.
