The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) said the victims were all under the age of 16 when James Pollard's abuse began - with the youngest just two years old.
A rapist branded a 'monster' and a 'danger to children and young girls' has been jailed for 15 years for a campaign of abuse that spanned more than four decades. James Pollard, 71, preyed on five girls in the north of Scotland between 1979 and 2022. The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service said the victims were all under the age of 16 when the abuse began - with the youngest just two years old.
' Pollard was sentenced to 15 years at the High Court in Aberdeen on Monday. Lord Summers said the victim impact statements provided made for 'difficult reading'. The judge added: 'It is clear that your offending has had devastating consequences for those affected by it. 'Your conviction for these offences is a testament to the courage and strength of those women who were prepared to give evidence to ensure that justice was done.
