The Ibrox side’s title hopes suffered a major setback after being dumped 3-2 by the Staggies in Dingwall.

James Tavernier knows Rangers are nearing Premiership D-day and after being dumped in Dingwall there can’t be another disaster in Dundee.

“Wednesday is a big game and we know we need to rectify it. There is no margin for error over the whole course of the season. Since the gaffer came in, we have dropped a couple of points. Sunday was disappointing because the performance levels were really poor. We have to hold our hands up as a team.”

“But obviously to concede a goal in the second minute after half time is not what you want to do. You want to start the second half positively and we obviously didn’t do that. It was really tough but first and foremost we have to earn the right to win games and we didn’t do that. He said: “The gaffer warned us and we didn’t respond. We started really poorly in the second half. We are really disappointed we’ve dropped points but we have six games to play and obviously we have to step it up now for Wednesday and the remaining games of the season.”
