Mr Williamson had already been anointed as the interim chairman of Australian Vintage under a board overhaul announced on August 14. But those duties have now expanded. Mr Williamson said the No.1 priority was to find his successor, with a search well under way. “Within two months I would expect to have a new CEO,” he said.
Earlier this year, Australian Vintage hoped to engineer a back-door listing for the Accolade Wines business through their since abandoned merger.
