Credit: Rex FeaturesAround one in four Brits are plagued by IBS, yet many are reluctant to talk about what happens in the confines of the bathroom.

Three quarters of IBS sufferers say it's a "debilitating" condition that affects their everyday life.In some cases, medication or psychological treatments may also be helpful.

A 2011 clinical trial in 122 people with IBS found a probiotic tablet significantly reduced IBS symptoms in 47 percent of participants taking the probiotic after four weeks.
