A Capitol riot defendant was recently arrested after allegedly making threats against U.S. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett.Earlier this week, a judge ruled that Bradley Scott Nelson of Arizona will remain detained until a hearing scheduled for next week due to his 'escalating rhetoric,' the Associated Press reported.Nelson was first arrested in March 2023 over charges relating to the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots in Washington D.C.

Garland previously appointed Special Counsel Jack Smith, who is prosecuting the case against Trump in connection to the January 6 riots at the Capitol.Nelson made another similar post in June where he allegedly threatened Barrett after she issued a dissenting opinion in the Supreme Court's case involving the obstruction charges handed down to many Capitol rioters. According to Austin's order, Nelson said that he hoped someone would cut Barrett's throat 'from ear to ear.
