The iconic Jane Fonda chucked the Palme d’Or at the recipient of the award, French director Justine Triet.
The 85-year-old A-lister was presenting the award to French director Justine Triet for her thriller Anatomy Of A Fall – a film that tells the story of a woman accused of murdering her husband.
Failing to catch the recipient’s eye, the star became exasperated and flung the certificate at the creative as she was walking away. Justine was among seven other female directors in the running for this year’s Palme d’Or – a record-breaking number that was matched when she won and became one of three women winners in the award’s history.
