One of Coronation Street's favourite characters Bernie Winter is known for her bold personality and romantic misfortune. But Jane Hazelgrove, who plays the mum of two, seems to have much better luck with love - having been married to fellow soap actor Isobel Middleton since 2015.
Bernie first appeared on our screens in 2019 and didn't make a quiet entrance. One of her earliest storylines saw her steal her pregnant daughter’s urine to sell fake positive pregnancy tests. But now she has settled into life in the street, she's become a firm favourite with fans and is known for her fierce loyalty to her loved ones, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Away from the cameras and her Corrie alter ego, Jane sometimes revealses a glimpse into her personal life. Speaking on ITV's Lorraine in 2019 she opened up about her "beautiful" wife, adding: “We’ve not [worked alongside each other], which is probably why we’re still together."She’s sensational, a really beautiful woman. I am very blessed.
In May she tweeted proudly about her love ahead of The British Soap Awards: "Very proud that my sublimely talented & hilarious wife has been nominated for Best Comedy Performance at the #soapawards2022 We can’t vote but if I could I would. Repeatedly. #JaneHazlegrove #BernieWinters #Corrie #funnybones."
