With bad weather expected to continue through the early afternoon Thursday, concertgoers at Jax River Jams will likely find soggy conditions at the Ford on Bay in Downtown Jacksonville.

– Organizers announced Thursday afternoon that Thursday night’s second installment of the Jax River Jams concert series has been canceled.

“After closely monitoring the weather situation for today, the tough decision has been made to cancel tonight’s Jax River Jams concert,” organizers wrote in an email to news outlets.in several St. Johns County subdivisions Thursday afternoon.The Jax River Jams series will resume next week with hip-hop duo EARTHGANG headlining on April 18.

Local and regional openers include: L.O.V.E. Culture featuring Ebonique, Wahid & Mr. Al Pete; Jeff Skigh featuring BayBro, Figga Da Kid, King Ca$hes & Twice; and Full Plate Fam. Initially, organizers opted to delaying the opening of the concert gates until 5:30 p.m. but by 1 p.m., they decided to call it off altogether.Thursday’s headliner would have been alternative, electro-pop musician Bishop Briggs with opening acts Future Joy, Kenzie’s Place with Kale that Raps and Coyboi.The final week of the series features pop singer-songwriter Andy Grammer as the headliner on April 25.
