Jay Slater, 19, disappeared after a night of partying with pals in Tenerife, and his body was tragically found more than 22 miles away from his holiday rental.
In a tragic turn of events, British teenager Jay Slater tragically died in the remote mountains of Masca. The 19-year-old, from Lancashire, lost contact with his friend on June 17 and vanished without a trace in Tenerife.
Bouquets of blue and white flowers, bearing heartfelt messages from his mother Debbie Duncan, father Warren Slater and older brother Zak, were placed on the dirt track 22 miles from the town Jay was trying to reach.Four weeks later, search crews discovered the lifeless body of a man. Specialist mountain teams and police used a helicopter to retrieve the remains, found in a steep ravine surrounded by mountains and undergrowth.A post-mortem later confirmed the identity of the body was Jay.
He had informed his friends he planned to attempt the 11-hour walk back to Los Cristianos, in the south of the island, instead of waiting for a bus.
