A GoFundMe set up by the last person to speak to missing teen Jay Slater has passed its £30,000 target
A GoFundMe campaign set up by the last person to speak to Jay Slater has exceeded its target of £30,000. Jay's mother, Debbie Duncan, has now confirmed what she plans to do with the £31,721 raised by Lucy Law, the friend who initiated the fundraiser 'approved by the family', reports the Express.
The post read: "We have not yet withdrawn any funds and are currently covering the expenses, such as the trip to Tenerife and accommodation, ourselves. The funds will remain on hold with GoFundMe until we post a further update on this page."Jay, 19, hailing from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, vanished after attempting to walk back to his accommodation having missed a bus.
Officers from the Guardia Civil in the Canary Islands were spotted focusing their efforts on two structures at the bottom of a ravine in Rural de Teno Park on Sunday. The search operation seemed to be concentrated on one particular area after extensive searches had been carried out in the village of Masca and its surrounding terrain.
