The 19-year-old has gone missing while on holiday on the Spanish island with his pals
after travelling there for a music festival with his friends. He last spoke to his pal Lucy at around 8am yesterday before his phone died.
They wrote on social media: "I’ve lived in Tenerife for two years now but I know Jay from home, so so so many people in Tenerife who I know are sharing all over social media, everyone is aware. “I’m obviously beside myself with worry which is why I’ve flown out here with my eldest son to do anything we can to help.
"We’re acting as support to them and they’re the ones who are asking for more resources as and when they feel they’re needed. The Civil Guard is involved as well as firefighters and Civil Protection workers who have two drones. A police helicopter is being used over the mountainous area, which is popular with hikers.
