EXCLUSIVE: Jeff Brazier has found a strong partner in wife Kate Dwyer, who has supported him in bringing up his two sons Bobby and Freddie since their mum Jade Goody died at 27
When OK! picks up the phone to Jeff Brazier on a Monday morning, he says he’s still on a high after celebrating his son Bobby’s 21st birthday the day before. “I’m so grateful for the wonderful people we have around us,” he says of the celebration in his Essex home. But unlike most birthday bashes, there was not a drop of alcohol in the house – as his son Bobby doesn’t drink.
“Unless you do that work to heal the inner child and work out why you avoid a lot of core emotions, life would be a product of my trauma – and I’m keen to make sure my life is not. But it requires a lot of time and effort to unravel it, unpick it and let it go.” but Bobby is so spiritual and he’ll chant and read and study spirituality like he’s doing a degree. He’d have a master’s by now if it was a structured course. He puts a lot of time and effort into understanding the world.Always self-development! I just enjoy it too much. I’m forever the imposter, forever the kid who didn’t have what a lot of others take for granted. I’m getting better at recognising what I’ve achieved. I’ve come a long way.
But neither me or their mum acted or modelled, so that’s new. For him it’s not about the fame, it’s about the personal challenge. And Fred’s working himself out and, as a young man, he has a right to do that. There is no pressure from me on him to do anything in particular.I like receiving cards from them. That’s all I care about! Every day is Father’s Day to me really. I know my kids appreciate me.
