EXCLUSIVE: Coronation Street star and mother-of-three Jennie McAlpine exclusively reveals her new daughter’s name – and admits she isn't ruling out more babies anytime soon
Almost 6 months ago, long-standing Coronation Street favourite Jennie McAlpine announced the - unexpectedly early - birth of her beautiful baby girl, her third child with husband of six years, Chris Farr.

Jennie has held off publicly announcing the birth – just as she did with her pregnancy, which she didn’t reveal until six months – preferring to stay ensconced in the newborn bubble for as long as possible.
As she and Chris had decided not to find out the sex before the birth, two shortlists of girls’ and boys’ names were drawn up – a task Albert took very seriously indeed. The baby was born just before midnight on April 4, weighing 7lbs 11oz, at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Hospital. “But we got through it and this might sound strange, but I love giving birth. All my babies have been a unique experience and this birth felt especially different.
Despite the aftermath of labour, Jennie was desperate to get home as quickly as possible and was thankful to be given the all-clear to leave hospital the following morning with Doris just a few hours old. “Then I realised we’d been standing in the hall with the door wide open for quite some time, so we thought we’d better close it before the neighbour’s cat came in.”
“She loves the baby carrier and just goes straight to sleep in there. So, all I need to do is work out a way I can sleep while standing up! I’ve breastfed them all and it’s lovely. She recalls the creative ways the producers managed to hide her growing bump as she shot her final scenes. Jennie has been back to the cobbles since the birth, taking Doris to meet her Corrie family for the first time.
“I’m such a technophobe, but Chris worked out how to get it on my phone so I can watch it at night – him doing that for me is my idea of romance. Being able to watch Classic Corrie in the middle of the night is better than having a million diamond bracelets and bunches of flowers!”
