The Chandler Bing actor died on Saturday, October 28, aged 54, and was laid to rest on Friday in a ceremony attended by his family and friends.
Perry, who had been incredibly open about his battle with addiction, writing in his 2022 memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing that ‘in the dictionary under the word “addict”, there should be a picture of me looking around, very confused’, was in and out of sober living facilities from the age of 24. In 2004, the same year the sitcom ended, Aniston told Diane Sawyer that the one thing Perry ‘didn’t know’ about himself was ‘that he’s alright’.
