The lovebirds, dubbed Bennifer, first started dating in the early 00s and soon got engaged – but called off their wedding shortly before they were due to tie the knot.
In a new interview, she opened up about getting back into the studio to work on such personal music once more. , via Deadline. ‘Every single song we wrote, me writing Dear Ben, it was such a special moment in time to have captured.’However, after they initially called time on their relationship, she explained that she couldn’t bring herself to perform those tracks concerning their time together.
‘So I didn’t make music in that way that I did in 2002 until now… It set me on a spiral for the next 18 years where I just couldn’t get it right. But now, 20 years later, it does have a happy ending. It has the most, would never happen in Hollywood ending.”, but admitted that aspects of being so vulnerable in public ‘scare her’.‘True love does exist and some things do last forever. And that’s real. I want to put that message out to the world,’ she added.
