Jeremy Corbyn has been announced as a speaker at a planned 'Stop the War' rally at Glasgow Green, with 3,500 people expected to attend and march to the city centre.
Mr Corbyn has been announced as a speaker at a 'Stop The War' rally at Glasgow Green on Saturday November 23. Demonstrators are expected to gather at Glasgow Green around 11.30am before marching to the city centre and back.
The demonstration has been called by Stop The War Coalition Scotland, the Scottish Trades Union Congress, and the Scottish Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. Posters shared by the groups call for the cessation of arms sales to Israel, 'no war with Iran', 'hands off Gaza and Lebanon', and 'welfare not warfare'.
Stop The War Coalition Scotland is expecting 3,500 people to join the march, according to the group's proposal, displayed on Glasgow City Council's public processions page. The march is expected to set off from Glasgow Green at midday. Demonstrators will head to George Square via Saltmarket and Trongate, before turning onto St Vincent Street and Union Street, along the side of Central Station towards the Clyde, before turning onto Clyde Street and following the river back towards the park, where the demonstration is planned to disperse.
Stop the War Scotland said in a post to Twitter/X: "Stop the War Scotland and Scottish CND are calling a national demonstration in Glasgow on Saturday November 23.
