The Bacoor Strikers demolished the Marikina Shoemasters, 75-55, late Monday, March 20, and shared the lead with six other unbeaten teams in the OKBet-Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Season 5 at the Strike Gymnasium in Bacoor City, Cavite.

The game was tight in the first half but Aaron Jeruta spearheaded a rally by the Strikers to pull away for good at 67-40.Jeruta, a former Centro Escolar University standout, finished with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals and was named Best Player of the Game.Jeruta, who hails from Iloilo, was supported by Kraniel Victoria and Chito Jayme who scored 10 points each even as Mark Yee and Alwyn Alday added 7 points epiece.

Zamboanga, out to prove that its dominance in last month's 2023 MPBL Preseason Invitationals was no fluke, banked on reigning Most Valuable Player Jaycee Marcelino and prized acquisition Dexter Maiquez to totally outplay Pasay which succumbed to its second straight defeat.Marcelino posted 17 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block to edge Maiquez, who tallied 16 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks.
