Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as former Reds man Jesse Lingard looks set to sign a deal with West Ham
Jesse Lingard is said to have held "initial talks" over signing for West Ham, following his departure from Nottingham Forest.
Lingard has been training with the Hammers and Sky Sports News now report he could sign a short-term contract with the club, adding that any deal is not a major priority for manager David Moyes as Lingard is a free agent and so could put pen to paper after the transfer window closes on Friday. West Ham first team coach Kevin Nolan hinted last week a deal with Lingard, who enjoyed a successful loan with the Hammers from Manchester United in 2021, was on the cards.READ MORE: Nottingham Forest ‘in talks’ with Serie A side over swap deal"He re-energised himself, he re-energised the club and he did what he needed to do. "He’s not quite up to match fitness, at the minute. I think we will continue to assess as we go along. "But Jesse, the first day you see him, and he says it: 'I feel like it’s my second home and I feel like I need to be here to go again.' If it works for both I think, it will happen. But that will be up to the boss. All we have to do is sort of see how he does over the next couple of weeks."
