Mikel Arteta reaches milestone as Arsenal manager as Gabriel Jesus makes his return in Fulham win AFC
Leandro Trossard had a first half to remember for Arsenal on Sunday as he grabbed a hat-trick of assists.
It was a comfortable 3-0 win over Fulham, who had absolutely no idea how to deal with the Gunners forward.Trossard also became the first player in the competition’s history to make a hat-trick of assists in the first half of an away game. Arsenal had already had a goal disallowed by a tight VAR offside call when Gabriel broke the deadlock in the 21st minute.
He jumped above the Fulham defenders to head home a Trossard corner as they capitalised on their fast start.The Gunners doubled their advantage when Trossard crossed the ball for Gabriel Martinelli, who easily beat his marker Antonee Robinson to nod home.
There was also the welcome sight of Gabriel Jesus back on the pitch for the first time since before the World Cup.He came on as a late second half substitute and should have scored after going through one-on-one with Bernd Leno.Luckily, that did not affect the result and Mikel Arteta picked up the 100th victory in his Arsenal managerial career.
