Jesy Nelson has hit back at blackfishing claims
Jesy Nelson has hit back at claims that she is blackfishing and insisted that she is "very aware that I'm a white British woman".
However the songstress has defended herself over accusations of blackfishing, which accuses someone of pretending to have Black heritage, and claimed that the term had never been directed towards her prior to leaving Little Mix. The Essex-born star added: "But I mean, like, I love Black culture. I love Black music. That's all I know; it's what I grew up on."
However, following the interview, Jesy's publicist confirmed that the comments had been deleted and the users were blocked by her management. In her first interview since leaving the girl group, she told Cosmopolitan: "I was bigger than the other three, and there's never really been that in a girl group.
