A Scots Jet2 flight traveling from Glasgow to Rome was forced to divert to London Stansted Airport this morning after pilots declared a mid-air emergency over Paris . The LS135 aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, departed Glasgow at 7am on Monday and was scheduled to land in Rome later today. However, approximately one hour and 30 minutes into the flight, pilots issued an emergency squawk (7700) and initiated a U-turn over Paris .
Flight tracking data from AirLive indicates the aircraft diverted to London Gatwick. The flight's typical route would have seen it traveling south from Glasgow before making a sharp turn back towards the north over Paris. Jet2 confirmed the diversion, stating it was prompted by a 'minor fault indication'. A spokesperson for the airline said: 'We can confirm that flight LS135 from Glasgow to Rome followed standard operating procedure and diverted to London Stansted this morning due to a minor fault indication. The aircraft landed safely, and customers will be transferred onto a replacement aircraft to continue their journey.
