The airline confirmed the flight from Burgas, Bulgaria, was forced to divert to Cologne after the passenger suffered a suspected cardiac arrest . The flight LS3214 left Burgas at around 1pm local time, 12pm BST, on Monday, September 16, as crew declared an emergency around two hours into the flight.
Regrettably, we can confirm that the customer sadly passed away. 'We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the customer's family and friends at this very difficult time.' The flight landed in Germany at around 2.30pm local time before it then left seven hours later after the tragedy. The flight then landed in Liverpool at around 10.30pm BST.
