Holidaymakers could face 'delays' due to strike action throughout April
Jet2 has warned passengers travelling to certain airports in Spain that they could face “delays” due to air traffic control strikes. The airline has issued the update for Alicante, Lanzarote , Fuerteventura and Ibiza airports.
The industrial action is set to impact flights on various dates throughout April, with walkouts planned for two hours each afternoon. A statement on Jet2’s website said: “We wanted to let you know that industrial strike action that will affect Air Traffic services at the above airports is taking place on the following dates and times: April 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27 and 30, between 14:00 and 16:00 .
The airline advised passengers that check-in will close 40 minutes before the flight’s scheduled departure time, and that staff will ensure the flight is ready to depart as soon as it can. Jet2 added: “Our UK-based Operations teams are working hard to minimise any delays and rest assured we’ll have you on your way as soon as we can.”
Customers are urged to check the Jet2 website for the latest information, as well as departure screens at the airport and to listen out for any announcements.
