A flight attendant has issued a warning to holidaymakers who are planning to jet off this summer, urging them to check a certain appliance in their hotel room

Passengers flying with Jet2, Easyjet, and TUI have been issued a peculiar warning by a flight attendant regarding hotel room kettles. Barbara Bacilieri, who has become somewhat of an expert on hotel stays due to her job, has advised holidaymakers to inspect the kettle in their rooms before using it.

She warned: "Always take a look inside the coffee pot. Before boiling water for making tea or coffee, think it through." Originating from South America, Barbara works for an airline based in Argentina, reports Birmingham Live.Barbara revealed some unsettling uses for the kettle she's come across, saying: "It is said that some guests use the boiling jar for weird stuff, such as washing underwear, cooking sausages or even cleaning the menstrual cup.

She also mentioned that some guests mistakenly believe they can take items from the room because they've paid for their stay or simply because they assume they're complimentary. The batteries from the remote control or worse, the light bulbs from the lights."
