Thousands of Brits are currently stranded across Greek islands
Holiday providers have issued messages to British holidaymakers this summer as wildfires take hold of Greek islands. The popular tourist destinations of Rhodes and Corfu are currently suffering from a string of wildfires, with thousands of Brits being evacuated.
This is in addition to over 50 scheduled flights operating between Rhodes and the UK this week, Sunday, July 23 to Sunday, July 30. Yesterday, Jet2 cancelled all flights and holidays due to depart to Rhodes up to and including Sunday, July 30. “We have also put on three repatriation flights to bring our customers home, which is on top of our scheduled programme of flights that will continue to operate from Rhodes to the UK this week. We are continuing to make decisions in the best interests of our customers, and we are keeping everything under constant review.”
"We’d like to reassure you that we’re doing all we can to provide support and assistance. We appreciate how distressing and difficult it is for those who have been evacuated and ask they follow the advice of the local authorities, reps on the ground and hotel staff.
