It is 20 years since Jill Dando was murdered on her doorstep
It’s almost 20 years since she was shot dead on her doorstep but police are no closer to finding her murderer.
‘I think you can rule out the Serbian hitman, which was a popular theory that was doing the rounds at the time. He described how the police carried out an exhaustive check of CCTV, as it existed then, to plot Jill’s journey which showed she wasn’t being followed.‘Neighbours talk of a strange man in the street… whether it was that man who pulled the trigger, I guess we will never know now,’ he said.
‘I’m not aware that Jill had any enemies. She hadn’t upset anybody. What you see was what you got with Jill. She was very friendly. That for 20 years is what has baffled her friends and family. Why did it happen?’
