The federal budget next month is set to shape the future of the Australian economy with Jim Chalmers under pressure to deliver good news to those doing it tough.

“One of the central themes of the Reserve Bank review, is how do we make sure that the Reserve Bank board's can rely on the best possible external advice and experience," Mr Chalmers said.
