This week a reader writes, “I’m having trouble logging into my old legacy sbcglobal email account from my desktop. From the log on screen at, here is the message that I get after I key in my password: ‘Something’s gone wrong. We may be having trouble with your connection.
“I know that this problem is not unique to me, because I have friends with the same issue. I can still read my emails using my iPhone and iPad, but my friends can no longer access their accounts from any device. One of my friends took her phone to the AT&T store, but they couldn’t get it to work either. When I Google this issue, the recommendation is to change your password, but I’m reluctant to do that because I’m afraid that I’ll no longer be able to read my email from my phone.
If you’ve kept your browser up-to-date, and the email stops working, try a different browser and see if it behaves better.I always recommend having at least two of the major browsers on your computer. Edge is based on the Google Chrome browsing engine, so the compatibility should be very similar, but if I found something that didn’t work with Chrome or Edge, I’d try it on Firefox.
