He has begun treatment for a curable form of cancer and will be taking this time off to heal.

It added that Vaughan and his family "appreciate all your understanding, support, and respect for their privacy at this time." Vaughan, 73, underwent quadruple bypass surgery in December, 2022, after suffering his third heart attack. In an, he said he had been practicing guitar every day at home as he prepared to go back on tour.
"Jimmie is looking forward to seeing everyone on the road this Fall," the statement said. Vaughan is the older brother of late guitar legend Stevie Ray Vaughan.
