Jake Fahri, who was released from prison in June 2023 after serving 14 years for the manslaughter of schoolboy Jimmy Mizen, could be sent back to prison for allegedly breaching his parole conditions. Evidence suggests Fahri may have filmed music videos in prison and was seen in the Greenwich area, a location he was banned from entering as part of his release terms.
Jimmy Mizen 's killer, Jake Fahri , could be facing a return to prison for allegedly breaching his parole conditions. Fahri was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 14 years in 2009 for the manslaughter of schoolboy Jimmy Mizen . He was released from prison in June 2023. Mizen's mother, Margaret, and her husband, Barry, have expressed concerns that Fahri may have violated his parole by being present in the Greenwich area of London.
This is in direct conflict with the terms of his release, which prohibited him from entering that region. Margaret noticed Fahri in one of his music videos filmed on the Greenwich Peninsula in front of the Canary Wharf skyline, leading her to believe he had breached his parole. Adding to the controversy, it has come to light that Fahri's music videos appear to contain footage illegally filmed inside prison. The track 'Dirty Game' includes scenes looking out of a broken cell window, along a prison corridor, and into an exercise yard. At one point, a hand is seen holding a suspicious substance wrapped in a pouch, which could indicate the use of a prohibited mobile phone within prison. This development has raised further questions about Fahri's conduct since his release.Adding to the public outcry, Fahri's music has been played on BBC 1Xtra, drawing criticism from Mizen's mother. Margaret Mizen expressed her disappointment with the BBC for playing Fahri's music, stating that it is unacceptable to air songs by a convicted murderer. She demanded answers from the BBC regarding their decision and the potential impact on the public perception of Fahri. The BBC has since stated that Fahri's music is not featured on any of their playlists and they have never played the specific lyrics mentioned. They clarified that only two of Fahri's tracks were played on 1Xtra, and they have no further plans to feature his music. They also emphasized that they were unaware of Fahri's background and do not condone his actions. The Prison Service has confirmed they are aware of the prison footage and are investigating it as a priority. They stated that any material that glorifies violence or causes distress to victims is taken extremely seriously
