"We've spoken all week about trying to get a good start. We're used to these conditions in England and it showed - we can still adapt, still play rugby.
"I'm really proud of how the girls attacked this game, when it's pouring down it is easy to shy away. The whole group fronted up, that's what you want in knock out rugby. Fair play to Australia, they threw everything at us but we found a way. I'm really proud of the girls, it's a job done. "We're now at the business end, there are no easy rides along the way. It's about the next game, we'll look at this game and work out where we need to tidy up things. We'll rest, recover and go again next week.
"It's been amazing, I've tried not to think about it too much as you never know what is going to happen, you just want to get on the pitch. But it has been a really special day. Now I can sit back and enjoy it. "I just want to say thank you to my amazing team-mates and everyone who has supported my career from the age of nine to now - you know who you are."
