Klein, who was with Wildenstein in her final moments, attributed her death at 84 on New Year's Eve to a chronic medical condition, phlebitis. He told People that the condition caused her legs to swell significantly, blocking blood flow and depriving her brain of oxygen.
Klein stated that while Wildenstein had a history of phlebitis, it didn't dampen their holiday celebrations, and she was otherwise in 'impeccable health.'
