President Joe Biden and former president Donald Trump may have failed to restore faith in voters as they go head-to-head in the first of two Presidential debates of the 2024 campaign.
This combination of photos shows President Joe Biden, left, and Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump during a presidential debate hosted by CNN, Thursday, June 27, 2024, in Atlanta. Critics are saying there should be an option for a third candidate as Democrats express concern about Biden's debate performance and Donald Trump filling his argument with lies and deflections.
During the debate, President Biden had a chance to reassure voters that, at 81, he can still lead the U-S for another four years, if re-elected. Voters have in the past expressed reservations about President Biden's age and ability to rule for another four years, as he is the oldest man to ever run for president.
